This follow-up to the initial Compassion Fatigue training day provides participants with the opportunity to deepen their understanding, reflect on personal experiences, and develop practical strategies for long-term emotional resilience. This course is ideal for professionals in caregiving, healthcare, social work, or other emotionally demanding roles who are seeking to maintain their well-being while continuing to provide high-quality support to others.
Key learning outcomes:

Recap and consolidate knowledge of the signs, symptoms, and risk factors of Compassion Fatigue from the first training day.
Engage in reflective practice to explore the personal and professional impact of Compassion Fatigue and share insights.
Identify practical ways to recognise and support colleagues who may be experiencing symptoms of Compassion Fatigue.
Recognise the stages of the stress response and apply both short-term and long-term strategies, including mindfulness to regulate emotional and physical reactions to stress.
Understand the importance of the gut microbiome in emotional wellbeing and identify ways to support gut health.
Explore how the mind-body connection influences stress and how proactive approaches can manage these effects.
Develop realistic and sustainable self-care strategies for both personal and professional life, and explore the barriers that may hinder their implementation.
