Compassion Fatigue Training

Compassion Fatigue is the normal reaction to working in an environment where you witness another's stress or trauma. It cannot be avoided, but through greater awareness of the causes, symptoms and risk factors, individuals can learn strategies to mitigate the effects.

Following our training, participants report feeling relieved to know that what they are feeling is normal and feel empowered to help themselves and their teams cope better, while preserving their empathy and compassion.

Organisations tell us that after the training, team members are less likely to be off sick or leave, access wellbeing services more readily, and morale increases. They also report that there is less friction within teams, fewer complaints and more kindness and understanding shown from managers and between colleagues.

Our compassion fatigue courses are ideal for individuals in roles that involve regular emotional engagement or caregiving responsibilities, whether that is for humans or animals.

Managers might wish to book this training if they are finding some of the following issues challenging:

  • High staff turnover

  • Increased sickness rates - stress-related illness in particular

  • Conflict within the team

  • Following a complaint, seeking a better experience for their customers/clients

Emotional Resilience Training

Emotional resilience is the ability to adapt to stressful situations, cope with adversity, and bounce back from challenges, trauma, or emotional distress. It doesn't mean avoiding pain or difficulty, but rather being able to navigate through them with flexibility, strength, and a positive outlook.

Key components of emotional resilience include:

  • Self-awareness: Understanding your emotions and how they affect your thoughts and behaviors.

  • Emotional regulation: Managing strong feelings like anger, sadness, or fear in healthy ways.

  • Optimism: Maintaining a hopeful and realistic attitude even in difficult times.

  • Support-seeking: Reaching out to others and building strong, supportive relationships.

  • Problem-solving skills: Effectively tackling challenges and finding workable solutions.

  • Sense of purpose: Having goals, values, or beliefs that provide direction and motivation.

Emotional resilience can be developed and strengthened over time through training, practice, reflection, and supportive experiences.

Our Emotional Resilience courses are ideal for anyone who is looking to improve their own emotional wellbeing or support others to.
