Customer Survey Response Results 2025
This report outlines the feedback from various organisations that responded to our 2025 Customer Survey. Customers were asked questions on the motivation for booking Compassion Fatigue and Wellbeing Training, the impact it had on staff, any unexpected outcomes, post-training engagement with wellbeing initiatives, implementation of suggestions from delegates noted on the training day, and overall impressions of the training.

What prompted you to book the training?
Organisations sought training primarily to address low staff morale, burnout, emotional stress, and retention challenges, especially in high-pressure healthcare environments. Recommendations and prior positive experiences also influenced the decision to book training.

We decided to book compassion fatigue training for our victim services team in response to growing awareness of the emotional demands placed on staff supporting individuals affected by trauma. Through recent feedback and observations, it became clear that team members were experiencing signs of emotional exhaustion, and we wanted to proactively support their well-being and resilience. The training will help equip staff with tools to manage stress, maintain boundaries, and continue delivering high-quality, empathetic support.
What was the impact the training had on the team?
The training created safe spaces for staff to share feelings, recognise burnout, and support each other, leading to improved morale, increased self-care, and better communication within teams. Many reported feeling valued and more confident in managing emotional stress.

There was a huge impact, with staff acknowledging the impact their jobs had on their lives, which led to them being much more considerate and taking care of themselves. 100% felt that the training had an impact
-
They really enjoyed the interactive sessions, the chance to offload, a safe space and consider their own wellness as a priority instead of others. They could then look out for their team members and recognise burnout in them, giving support and advice.
Was there impact from the training that you didn’t expect?
Unexpected benefits from the training included enhanced peer support. Beyond anticipated stress management tools, the training fostered open emotional engagement, increased camaraderie, and surfaced underlying workload and boundary issues, prompting further wellbeing discussions.

The response from everyone who attended the course was overwhelmingly positive; more so than any other course I've commissioned. I feel that it made staff feel valued as individuals and that is more important than any training for an additional radiographic/patient care skill I could give them. By caring for themselves they are better able to care for others. I found teams openly talking about and altering their diets with the specific aim of reducing their stress. They found a channel to talk.

Yes, one unexpected impact was how openly staff engaged with the emotional aspects of their roles. While we anticipated the training would offer practical tools for managing stress and burnout, it also created a safe space for reflection and peer support. Many team members shared that simply having the opportunity to talk about their experiences and hear from others was incredibly validating.
It also helped surface some underlying issues around workload and boundaries that we hadn’t fully appreciated before, which has prompted wider conversations about wellbeing and support structures within the team.
Have staff engaged more with wellbeing initiatives since the training?
Post-training, teams showed more willingness to participate in wellbeing activities such as yoga, mindfulness, healthy eating, social events, and clinical supervision, contributing to ongoing staff support.

More willingness to talk about wellbeing and be involved in initiatives. We have had a company come in and offer taster massages that have been booked out. We have regular yoga on one of the sites and even a 'World Food' day where staff bring in national dishes to improve morale and wellbeing but also increase cultural awareness. I have a wellbeing champion fund raising for a massage chair to be installed at work.
-
There are more ideas for social staff time outside of work and have engaged with more dedicated time off, the management team have given more dedicated holidays and time for appointments in the week and drop-in time for staff to take time out on Thursday mornings together
-
I think there is an improved work life balance and an openness to ask for help. We have carried out a wellbeing survey to all colleagues which will form part of our People strategy for next year
Were you able to implement any of the suggestions the staff gave you in the training?
Some organisations introduced regular debrief sessions, improved communication channels, wellbeing programs, and protected time for reflection.

Fantastic training. I think it's really important that it's offered away from the workplace and that food is included as it feels like a pampering day. Everyone is also at the same level on the day. As our department is across 4 different hospitals this training also gave us an opportunity for staff to meet from different sites, discuss experiences and do some myth busting about different sites: so, it's effectively helped unify us too.
-
Thank you for a valuable experience for all the team - it is always great to get the staff together as a unit but especially for a topic so important as emotional resilience and wellbeing.
