Emily's Responsible Selflessness!

Emily Hudd
Sales Executive

This summer, I'm choosing to be responsibly selfish by making space for the things that restore my energy rather than constantly giving it away. I'm booking myself a massage and sauna because rest is something I deserve, not something I have to earn. I'm planning a day with a friend to wander around Glastonbury with no agenda other than enjoying good company, good food and exploring quirky shops, and taking life at a slower pace. I'm also committing to longer early morning walks with the dogs, giving myself the gift of quiet time before the day begins and appreciating the simple joy of being outdoors.
Being responsibly selfish also means protecting my peace. I'm giving myself permission to say no to anything that drains my energy, knowing that every no creates space for a more meaningful yes. I want to make time to read for pleasure, without feeling guilty that I should be doing something more productive, and I'm reminding myself that it's okay to simply stop and just be. This summer isn't about doing more; it's about living more intentionally, nurturing myself, and returning to the season feeling calmer, happier, and at peace with myself.

It made me stop and evaluate where I am and how I’m feeling. How to show up for myself in my job and life and recognise signs of burnout and emotional fatigue and how to help myself"
